The Battle Wares book manual
BattleWares: A Battle Gear Manual

As enthusiasts, we have been studying, holding and using tools and gear for a long time. Two years ago, we decided to open Battle Wares with a very simple concept: to share information about every tool and gear used in the field/battlefield, and to write about their history and applications for all enthusiasts who want to learn more without having to search the entire internet. During this time, we also discovered that the quality of modern gear related to what we love is actually low in most cases. And yes, we know exactly why this happens. So, our mission became to share their history (while clarifying misconceptions along the way) and to recommend you the best gear available.

We are a small team, and of course, writing about all of this requires time. Still, we work every day. Our current focus is on one of the most iconic tools used in the field: swords. Here, we talk more about modern-made swords, including tactical swords, battle-ready swords, fantasy replicas, as well as sword comparisons, samurai and European swords, and more. We strive to help all enthusiasts with information, new collectors with finding the best swords, and those who practice related sports like fencing.

About Our Review Process

Our reviews are based on in-depth research, user feedback, and analysis of customer experiences, including insights from collectors and users—except when we specifically mention that we have tested the swords ourselves. Gathering different opinions is especially important for functional swords because they are often handmade.

Slight variations in the forging or production process can affect their quality, balance, and durability. That’s why we carefully select and highlight the best swords based on the experiences of many users, not just one, to ensure the product meets high standards and doesn’t fall short.
